KRON to get the CW affiliation?

I wonder if KBCW and any or all of the other soon-to-be-former CW affiliates mentioned in the above-linked article will need to (or at least choose to) change their call letters come September? Could channel 44 revert to its previous KBHK call letters? Whether that happens or a different callsign is chosen, I have a feeling that either way Paramount would want to wash its hands of The CW. I can’t see them wanting call letters that reference a network that they no longer own. But that’s just pure speculation on my part.

I say this because I remember that a little over two years after the WB ceased to exist, the network’s former Bay Area affiliate, channel 20, reverted from KBWB to its previous KOFY call letters when it went indie.

If that's the case wouldn't in practice KBCW would have to be named CBS Bay Area+ and KPIX+ yes basically KBCW would have to rename themselves after the main CBS affiliate.

This is where KBCW could go or they can name themselves after KPIX. Here is KMAX so far one of the first soon to be former CW affiliates owned by Paramount New logos and they are an extension of CBS Sacramento.

Not sure, but they went with KPYX so it does not matter.
Also paramount wants the soon to be former KBCW branded an extension of KPIX CBS Bay Area in the same way KMAX Sacramento had to remove the CW logo from their station ID and show that KMAX is an extension of KOVR CBS Sacramento.
