David Allan Boucher leaving Bedtime Magic

No doubt... her loyal fan base of misfits, morons, idiots and manic depressives make for great phoners.

But in the real world, radio after 8 PM is generally a wasteland. Are advertisers really buying her show?

up until 50 years ago, radio is what you had in the bedroom and a station would hope the station you listened to as you fell asleep would be the station your clock radio would play in the morning...

Now there is a TV in every bedroom and radio in the home has such a low penetration rate it might as well not exist.

What is her deal? Is her show bartered or are stations actually paying money for that steaming pile?

I'd love to see some real PPM numbers from a top 100 market showing what she brings to the table.

for those of you that have never experienced radio hell, imagine John Tesh in PM drive followed by Delilah

it happens here in Fort Myers M-F
While I agree that it’s radio hell, I do like WJPT’s playlist. They play a lot of AC stuff that can’t be heard on the big corporate stations.

The money of misfits, morons, idiots and manic depressives is just as green as yours and mine.

you have got to be effn kidding me.....

not that I have had any reason to listen to WMJX in years now, but now I have all sorts of reasons not to

Thank God for SXM , Amazon Music, Amazon, and Android Auto

I was just thinking... I believe with David signing off tonight, there will no longer be anyone live on a commercial music station in Boston at night.

I briefly heard WMJX-106.7 last night (July 4th), only briefly because I was watching televised fireworks shows later in the evening.

But during the part I listened to. It appeared to have been automated.

With yesterday being a holiday, Delilah may not start on Magic until tonight (July 5th).

But if she's on vacation this week, WMJX may hold off starting her show until she returns from vacation (either next Monday, July 11th or the Monday after that, July 18th) to avoid having her show start in Boston with "best ofs".

On her show's website, it indicates that in addition to weeknights, she'll also be on Sunday nights (the weekend shows are likely "best ofs").

As far as the WMJX website is concerned, David Allan Boucher's bio has been removed from the website but Delilah's hasn't been posted at this writing (12 Noon EDT Tuesday the 5th).

Update, 9 P.M.EDT, July 5th:

Delilah's show is indeed running tonight on WMJX-106.7.

I would have felt much less sad had Delilah moved to Boston and done her nationally syndicated show at the WMJX studios. At least her show would have been local in Boston even if nationally syndicated.
